November Update

November was a busy month…just not quilting.  Half the month was spent traveling…first to So Cal for a craft fair at Sally’s temple. It was our second joint effort to sell our totes and other scrappy creations and a big improvement over the Art on the Mesa event this past summer. Not only were our sales significantly higher, but we made a few good contacts and found out about other venues more suitable for selling our quilted items. And, no bad checks this time! Our second big trip was to Portland for Thanksgiving week, which I’ve shared in great detail on the Moser Good Eats Blog.

Now that I’ve made my excuses, I’ll report my progress on the pipeline. I quilted the first of the four modern quilts we made at the October Stix Retreat…Maria’s orange/aqua top. I have to say I had my doubts about the coral colored fabric Maria hastily chose the day before she flew down for the retreat. Now that it’s completed, all I can say is, WOW! It is striking! A few days before we left for Portland (knowing we wouldn’t return until December 1^st) I decided to quilt one more top. (This blog keeps me accountable.)  I pulled out an oldie, dusted it off (not really, I keep your quilt tops out of harms way in the armoire…however, you may notice a few cat hairs, thanks to Ernie, the resident feline) and quilted it and as an apology to Sandy for being so delinquent I even put the binding on it. The quilt was made from leftover Laurel Burch fabrics using the Snappy Square pattern. Can't go wrong with either!
